This morning I met with our construction manager, Laura. My initial impression of her was very good, and I'm looking forward to the actual building part of the process.
This morning the workers were laying the rough plumbing, and the city inspector was due out to the lot this afternoon, to give the OK to move forward.
The dirt was harder than expected (based on lots in the same division). The workers didn't bring in machinery, and were unpleasantly surprised to learn that using a pick to dig the trenches was going to be more work than they anticipated.
The "left" pipes are our kitchen sink. The "middle" pipe is for our hot water heater. The "right" pipes are our laundry room and half bath.
Here's the view from the back corner of the lot. The wood in the back right is the frame of our lanai. To the left (just outside the picture) is the master suite, and the pipes on that side are our vanities, shower and comode.
The rebar will be going into the footers early next week; and the slab will follow on either Thursday or Friday.
